The outreach to the Steven's Unit here in DeWitt County is a vibrant part of our faith in action. Jesus tells us in the gospel, Matthew 25, that what you have done to the least of my brothers you have done to me. When you have visited those in prison, you have visited Christ himself.
So taking the message of Christ to heart, many men and women dedicate their lives to serving those who are incarcerated. Every week members of the faithful minister and allow themselves to be ministered to by those in the Steven's unit.
Every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30pm and Tuesday afternoon form 3-5pm we gather with those incarcerated to proclaim the good news, to celebrate the sacraments of reconciliation and Holy eucharist, to encourage, and to support.
We also have retreats for the prisoners throughout the year.
we are currently seeking to raise funds for a chapel for the men. There is a need for a much larger space to gather the men so as to facilitate worship and conversion. If you are able or interested in donating please click the link to the left entitled chapel fund.
Please pray for us and for those who are incarcerated.
If you would like to help support the ministry you can do so by bringing cash or check to the office and designating it for the prison minsitry.
Thank you
