Nature and Purpose
1) a representavie body of the parish whose focus is on the whole community-beliefs, hopes, joys, needs, sorrows, concerns, gifts, and pursuit of the mission of the church
2) the council provides a means for uniting the parish community in expressing it collective wisdom concerning pastoral plans and activities.
3) The pastoral council must reflect the "signs of the times" to those planning or implementing long term policies or activities
4) Parish council must respond to the call and questions of the pastor and offer consultation
5) The pastoral council is to give counsel and seek consultation
Membership qualifications
1) Baptized Catholics who live their faith actively
2) Registered in the parish
3) Demonstrate a committment to the parish
4) Commit themselves to spiritual growth
5) Willing to develop skills necessary for Christian leadership
6) Commit energy amd time to offer counsel and consultation
7) Must be a team player
